Product details

The Blazic Sauvignonasse (Friulano) Selekcija is an amber-colored wine, distinguished by its unique complexity and elegance. With an alcohol content of 14% and a shelf life of at least 10-15 years, this wine presents a harmonious balance between ripe fruit aromas and subtle woody notes. The 3-4 weeks of maceration and aging in small wooden barrels give it an extraordinary depth and structure. Unfiltered and made with minimal sulfur addition, this wine offers an authentic taste experience that will excite both connoisseurs and newcomers to wine enjoyment.

Recommended Moments of Enjoyment with Blazic Friulano Selekcija

This noble drop pairs perfectly with hearty meat dishes, prosciutto, and smoked fish. Its rich structure and pronounced aromas make it the ideal companion for social evenings with friends or an elegant dinner. Serve the Blazic Sauvignonasse (Friulano) Selekcija at a temperature of 12-14°C to fully bring out its variety of flavors.

For optimal storage, the Blazic Sauvignonasse (Friulano) Selekcija should be kept in a cool, dark place at a constant temperature. Thanks to its excellent aging potential, the wine develops deeper and more complex flavor profiles over the years. It is recommended to open the bottle a few hours before enjoyment to allow the wine to breathe and unfold its full range of aromas.

Vina Blažič: Tradition Meets Innovation in the Vineyards of Goriška Brda

In the heart of the picturesque hill landscape of the Goriška Brda region, where the Mediterranean climate meets the Alps, lie the carefully tended vineyards of Vina Blažič. This unique location, combined with mineral-rich soil, creates ideal conditions for viticulture and allows the winery to produce exceptional wines.

The vineyards of Vina Blažič, which are up to 50 years old, are characterized by a deep and branched root system that helps the vines withstand weather extremes. This leads to high-quality products even in more challenging vintages. The terraced vineyards are greened and are cultivated in an environmentally friendly manner with a lower yield per hectare. Most of the work is done manually, in harmony with the terroir and the philosophy of the winery.

The grapes are exclusively handpicked and come solely from their own vineyards, where the use of fertilizers and herbicides is avoided. Vina Blažič places great emphasis on understanding the micro-locations of each individual vineyard to find an optimal balance in terms of soil, elevation, climate, grape variety, training, protection, yield, harvest time, and vintage.

The winery manages 9 hectares of vineyards, which extend across the Slovenian and Italian sides of Goriška Brda. The focus is on white grape varieties, with Rebula (Ribolla Gialla) and Sauvignonasse (formerly Tokaj Friulano) being the main varieties. The vineyards in Plešivo, Medana, and Biljana are home to varieties such as Sauvignonasse, Sauvignon, Beli Pinot, Sivi Pinot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Malvazija.

Vina Blažič is a winery that combines tradition and innovation to create wines of exceptional quality and character, perfectly reflecting the terroir of the Goriška Brda region.
