Deep ruby red. Intense and fine aromas of blackberry jam, plums, salty spices, chocolate, coffee, leather, and sweet spices. The taste is sweet with pleasantly rounded tannins. The intensely lively body expresses softness, intensity, pronounced elegance, and a very long finish. A true "high-end" red wine blend! The skillful interplay of dried Refošk-Teran, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes (appassimento) reflects the barren, rocky, and wild terroir of the Karst region in the mouth. The wine then ages for four years in wooden barrels and another two years in the bottle. |

The Kras Cru is a special companion for game and meat dishes. It also pairs well with strudel variations, cheese, and vegetarian dishes. Its opulent structure and fruity notes combined with a pronounced acidity make it an interesting wine for vinophile enthusiasts during a cozy dinner with friends. This wine should be well aerated for a few hours (decanting is recommended), with a recommended serving temperature of around 18°C. The use of elegant, large wine glasses (e.g. Zalto Burgundy) is highly recommended! This wine has a storage potential of at least 10 to 15 years. Store it in a cool, dark place to preserve its quality. The wine is unfiltered and made with minimal sulfur, emphasizing its naturalness and purity. |

At Renčel Boutique Winery, they have always lived in close harmony with nature. The ancestors also engaged in livestock farming and agriculture, but wine production was always the most important. Some time ago, Josko Renčel decided to focus entirely on winemaking. Therefore, they expanded their vineyards to ten micro-locations covering a total area of around four hectares. Working hand in hand with nature and following the principles of biodynamics, they produce indigenous varieties such as Teran and Vitovska grganja. Driven by curiosity to discover what this fertile, red soil (Terra Rossa) and the unique Karst climate have to offer, they also began planting other grape varieties such as Sauvignon, Malvazija, and Pinot Noir. The character of their wines is undoubtedly influenced by the wonderfully diverse Karst region where they are crafted. This limestone plateau, proudly stretching between the Gulf of Trieste, the Vipava Valley, Brkini, and the Soča Valley, feels both wild and homely at the same time. |
